Getting an invitation to a job interview can be both thrilling and daunting at the same time. The initial delight of being one step closer to getting a job can be overshadowed by nerves and worry about the interview process, and a poor interview can have a negative effect on your chances of getting the job. A job interview is all about making a good first impression on your potential employer, through more than just your CV, so preparation is key as you will want to be calm, collected and able to answer the questions that are asked of you, in a way that doesn’t leave you stuttering or speaking about things that are irrelevant. Pear Recruitment wants to help people ace their interviews, and below are some examples of potential estate agent interview questions. Asking about your skills is almost certainly going to come up because your potential employer will want to see whether you are the right fit for the job that you are applying for. While the employer may have already seen the skills that you have in your CV, talking about them in person gives you the chance to elaborate further on situations where you have put these skills into practice. Understanding your skillset is important to your employer, but they must also take into account that you are going to be working with them and when you work you will be reflecting their business, and this means that one of your estate agent interview questions might look at how you see yourself fitting into the company, and what you can bring to it. Answering this question will allow your potential employer to envisage how you would apply yourself to your new employers, so making sure that you have researched the company and seen for yourself what you could bring to it, is ideal preparation. As you are applying for an estate agent job which is very focused on customer service and engagement, you may find that there are estate agent interview questions that address your behaviour and personality. As well as answering the question with things such as having a professional, open and confident personality, it is also important to remember that you are face-to-face with your employer, so making sure that some of this personality comes through during the interview can be just as important as answering your estate agent interview questions well. Preparing for what to say in the event of a strengths and weaknesses question can be difficult because it requires a perfect balance. When talking about a strength that you have, simply saying that you are fantastic at something can come off more as arrogance; however, if you can show how this strength has actively helped out in your work previously then this can come off better. Nobody likes to highlight a weakness that they have out of fear that you could put your job prospects in jeopardy; however, it’s not necessarily the weakness that the employers are looking at but rather the process that you took to overcome the problem, make yourself better and rectify the situation. At the end of the interview most employers will open the floor to you to ask any of your own questions, and making sure that you have some can be important to show that you are interested and serious about the position. It can also show initiative if you bring up a question that has not been addressed by the interviewer previously in the interview.
